2. Collecting, processing and using personal data
Personal data are data regarding the material or personal interrelations of a specific or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, the name and surname, telephone number, address and all basic data that the user provided to us when registering and creating a customer account.
2.1 Collecting, processing and using personal data of a user
We collect, save and process user data as part of our shopping service, including any subsequent warranties, to provide our services, for technical administration purposes, for our own marketing purposes (for more on this, see item 2.2) and to prevent prohibited acts and fraud. Users’ personal data are transferred to third parties only if this is permitted by law, including purposes related to the performance of an agreement or settlement, for marketing purposes, or in the event of the user’s prior consent. For example, as part of order processing, service providers cooperating with us (for example, carriers, logistics companies and banks) receive the necessary data to process orders and commissions. Data provided in this manner may be used by the service provider only for the purpose of carrying out its task.
2.2 Use of user data for advertising purposes
In addition to processing data as part of the shopping service on the IGIBU website, we also use the user’s data for the following purposes: to continuously optimise the user’s shopping experience as part of a customer-friendly and personalised offer; to be able to contact the user in connection with orders and certain products, as well as marketing campaigns; and to recommend products or services to the user that may be of interest to them.
For this purpose, we use the obtained information, for example, confirmation of receipt and reading of e-mails, information about the user’s end device, internet connection, operating system and platform, date and time of visiting the website, or the viewed products, as well as information that we obtain from the user (including information that is automatically provided or generated). In addition, we also use the order history.
The user may, at any time, object to the use of the user’s personal data for advertising purposes in whole or in relation to specific activities, without incurring costs other than the costs of providing information according to the base tariff . For this purpose, it is sufficient to send a notification in text form to the contact details listed in item 1 (for example, e-mail, letter).
2.2.1 Newsletter
We use the e-mail address provided by the user to send the newsletter. Here, we must confirm the user’s consent to receive the newsletter as the owner of the e-mail address.
If the user would like to unsubscribe from the newsletter, they can withdraw their consent at any time without incurring costs other than the costs of providing information according to the base tariff. For this purpose, it is sufficient to send a notification in text form to the contact details listed in item 1 (for example, e-mail, letter). Of course, every Newsletter has an “unsubscribe” link.
2.2.2 E-mail messages with recommended products
If the user made the purchase on an IGIBU site, they can receive e-mails with recommended products from us. These messages are sent irrespective of whether the user subscribed to the newsletter. In this way, we want to provide the user with information about products from our offer that could interest them based on their recent purchases.
If the user would like to opt out of receiving product recommendations or advertising communications from us in general, they can withdraw their consent at any time without incurring costs other than the costs of providing information according to the base tariff. For this purpose, it is sufficient to send a notification in text form to the contact details listed in item 1 (for example, e-mail, letter). Of course, every e-mail contains an “unsubscribe” link.
2.2.3 Banner advertising
We also use data collected during the user’s visit to display so-called banner advertisements. These are advertisements that redirect to third-party websites. This advertisement mostly uses cookie files (cookies) or pixels. Our goal is to develop an advertising offer that will be attractive and useful to the user; therefore, as part of banner advertising, the user may see primarily products that they have already viewed on our website, or products similar to those viewed by them before (so-called retargeting). We only use pseudonymised data for banner advertising; direct information about the user (for example, their surname or e-mail address) is not saved in cookies.
More information on cookies, pixels and retargeting is provided in item 3 of these rules.
2.2.4 Competitions
As part of competitions, we use user data to notify about winnings and to advertise our offer. Detailed information is provided in the conditions of participation of a given competition.
3. Cookies (cookie files)
Accepting cookies is a prerequisite for using our websites. However, if the user blocks the use of cookies, our website and service will only work based on limited functions.
What are cookies (cookie files)?
Cookies are small files saved on the user’s data carrier used by the user’s browser to save certain settings and data for the purpose of exchange with our system. There are two types of cookies: so-called session cookies, which are deleted when the user closes the browser, and temporary/permanent cookies, which are stored for a longer period of time or permanently on the user’s data carrier. By storing these files, we can properly develop our websites and offer in terms of user preferences. This makes it easier for the user to use the website, for example, by saving certain user data so that they do not have to provide the data each time.
Which cookies does IGIBU use?
Most of the cookies we use are automatically deleted from the user’s computer’s hard drive at the end of the user’s browser session (so-called session cookies). For example, session cookies are used to offer the user a shopping cart function on many pages of the website. In addition, we also use cookies that are stored on the user’s computer’s hard drive. During the next visit, the website automatically recognises the user, as well as the information and settings they prefer. Temporary and permanent cookies (storage period from one month to 10 years) are saved on the hard drive of the user’s computer, and after a certain period of time they are automatically deleted. These cookies are used to make our offer even more effective, secure and user friendly. Thanks to these files, we are able to present the user with information tailored to the user’s interests. The only goal of cookies is the best possible adaptation of our offer to customer expectations, and thereby making it easier for customers to navigate our site.
Which data are saved in cookies?
Only pseudonymised data are stored in the cookies used by IGIBU. When activating a cookie, an identification number is assigned to it without assigning the user’s personal data to this identification number. The name, IP address or similar user data that allow the cookie to be assigned directly to the user are not stored in the cookie. Based on cookie technology, we only obtain pseudonymised information, for example, about which pages of our store the user has visited, which products they have viewed, etc.
Retargeting
Our websites use so-called retargeting technology. We use this technology to be able to offer users a more attractive online offer. It allows users who have become interested in our store and our products to be presented with relevant advertising on the websites of our partners. We believe that displaying personalised advertising that is related to the user’s interest is generally more attractive to the user than advertising that does not have such an individual connection. The display of these advertising materials on our partners’ websites is based on cookie technology and analysis of previous user behaviour. This form of advertising is carried out completely anonymously.
When using our website, cookies are used to collect, save and use data on user behaviour. In addition, the user’s data contained in cookies are stored after the end of the browser session and, for example, used during the next visit to the website.
How can you block the saving of cookies?
Browsers have settings that enable the acceptance of cookie saving only if the user agrees to it. In this way, the user can block the saving of cookies in the future. To accept the use of IGIBU cookies while blocking the use of third-party cookies, select the “Block third-party website cookies” option in the browser settings.
As a rule, in the browser menu bar via the “help” function, the user can get information on how to reject new and disable saved cookies.
4. Internet analysis
In order to continuously optimise and improve our offer, we use so-called tracking technologies. We use Google Analytics services for this purpose.
4.1 Google Analytics
This website uses the web analysis tool Google (Universal) Analytics by Google Inc. (www.google.pl). Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods that enable the analysis of the user’s use of the website, for example, cookie files, which are text files that are stored on the user’s computer. Information generated in this way about a visit to this website is usually transferred to and stored on a Google server in the US. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google before being transmitted within Member States of the European Union or in other signatory states to the European Economic Area Agreement. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the US and shortened there. An anonymised IP address sent by the user’s browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. A user can prevent the data generated by the cookie relating to the user’s use of the website (including the IP address) from being sent to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:
http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=pl
5. Retargeting and data collection by third parties for banner advertising purposes
As part of retargeting and banner advertising, we use the services of third parties that use cookies on our website. These are the following companies:
– Doubleclick by Google, Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA:
– Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA:
6. Secure data transmission
We transfer your personal information securely using encryption. This also applies to the ordering process and customers logging in. We use the TLS (Transport Layer Security) or SSL (Secure Socket Layer) coding systems.
In addition, our websites and other systems are protected by continuous technical and organisational measures against loss of, destruction of, access to, alteration of or dissemination of user data by unauthorised persons.
